EPFL is developing teaching and learning resources for developing the digital ethics skills of students. Our flagship project is a full 4 ECTS course on the responsible design of software for Computer Science students at Bachelor level. Called “Responsible Software”, the course uses a flipped classroom design and will combine a range of learning activities including programming exercises, videos, quizzes and case studies. We are looking for a versatile instructional designer to help us develop, deploy and evaluate these resources in collaboration with a team of students. We welcome profiles with a philosophy or social sciences background to complement our areas of expertise.
Main duties and responsibilities include :
- Design and develop teaching and learning resources on digital ethics: scripts for videos, course notes, quizzes, slides, case studies, etc
- Collaborate with students in a co-design approach
- Research and summarize literature on digital ethics and responsible software design
- Evaluate the quality of teaching and learning resources via surveys and focus groups
- Gather and share best practice within the community of innovators in education
Your profile :
- Experience with instructional design, in particular for online resources and courses
- Experience with literature search and academic papers readin
- Experience with empirical evaluation of teaching and learning resources
- Fluent English and French
- Master degree. Background in philosophy, social sciences or science and technology fields
