The University of Teacher Education Lucerne and the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts will host the first international conference on Open Educational Resources on January 28th & 29th. Please click here to access the conference website and additional information.

Dr. Daniel Halter has been elected as the new Vice-president of Educational Development at FHNW. As a result, ETH is looking for a new Director for their Educational Development and Technology unit, also know as LET (Lehrentwicklung und -technologie).
The ad is available in English and in German. Below is a snippet:
“As Director, you will lead and manage the unit’s specialist groups, personnel and organisational management, and orientation. You will be responsible for supporting the curriculum development process, delivering a range of faculty development activities, teaching evaluations, online exams and the operation of innovation management and IT services for teaching. You will also be responsible for strengthening and coordinating the network of Educational Developers in the ETH departments. You will be a member of the core advisory group on teaching and work closely with the Rector and the Prorector for Curriculum Development to implement the strategy for teaching at ETH Zurich. Together with the LET team, you will identify new educational development themes and elaborate how these may be implemented to benefit high-quality teaching at ETH.”

Dear SFDN members,
We are happy to announce our second webinar, this time in German: “Denken im Fach vermitteln – mit dem Decoding-Ansatz Studierenden disziplinäre Arbeitsweisen nahebringen”. The webinar is taught by Petra Wess and Kerrin Riewerts (U. Bielefeld) and will introduce and show the applicability of the approach “Decoding the Disciplines” by Pace and Middendorf. It will take place on the 24th September from 10 to 11am through Switch Interact.
