We’re Looking for Examples of Assessments in the Age of Generative AI!

How are faculty assessing students at higher education institutions in the age of generative AI? We
are collecting real-world case examples of assessments where generative AI plays a role – whether
deliberately integrated, regulated, or simply present.

Invitation

You are invited to submit your case examples – from formative learning assessments to summative
performance evaluations, graded or ungraded, proctored or unproctored. We (17 researchers from
Germany, Austria, and Switzerland) are interested in all scenarios: where generative AI is permitted,
desired, prohibited, or regulated – and where it is used anyway.

The Project

The initiative “Assessments in the Age of Generative AI” (DGHD) aims to understand how higher
education institutions actually assess their students. To this end, we are gathering documented examples
of real assessments from individual courses. The analysis of these cases contributes to an empirically
grounded systematization of assessments.

We Are Interested In

  • Assessment tasks where students are expected to use generative AI strategically
  • Assessment formats that regulate or restrict when AI is permitted
  • Anything else you find innovative or particularly challenging in this regard

How to Participate

Completing the form takes approximately 15–20 minutes. The form is available in English. You briefly
describe: discipline, study level, assessment format, AI use (or AI restrictions), and assessment evidence.
All data is treated confidentially. You can decide whether you agree to the publication of your case in a
case collection.

Incentives

  • Your experience contributes to an empirically grounded framework
  • Optional: Your case can be published (anonymized or attributed) in a public case collection
  • Participants receive access to project results upon request
