SIG- University Teacher Education is running on its third year!

Outcomes of our reflections and work have been presented internationally at the ICED and the SFDN conference.

We are now looking to expand.

If you are interested, join us on the 5th of October from 13:00-14:30 at the PH Zürich. There is also the possibility to meet online through Adobe Connect.

This meeting’s objective will be to decide the focus of our next study following last year’s survey on Faculty Development practices across Switzerland.

The agenda for the meeting :

  1. Next directions in our SIG -FD: topic, timing, sample, etc.
  2. Lead of the SIG
  3. Where to present the results (survey’s outcomes + new research design (or initial results)? Any conference? Taking into account that some of them consider sending abstracts one year ahead.
  4. Next SIG meetings – calendar 2017-2018

email Monica to confirm attendance.

REMINDER!  SFDN 1st Webinar October 10 from 11h to 12h

Series 2017/2018 – The board is pleased to launch a new way for members to connect and exchange practices with one-hour webinars that explore topics of interest to the SFDN community.  Please join us for these online sessions and if you are interested in hosting a session, please also let us know.  We look forward to your participation and feedback.

Animated videos can be used to enhance traditional teaching and learning activities, adding a creative element to introductions, concept overviews, and assessment.  In this webinar, we will briefly look at the opportunities for the pedagogical uses of animated videos from a faculty member viewpoint and also from a learner viewpoint.  Then we will explore GoAnimate, one digital tool to create animated videos, focusing on real-world examples and application.  If you are not familiar with animated videos, click here to see a sample.  The webinar will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 from 11h00 – 12h00Please sign up for the webinar using this link.  Further details and instructions for accessing the online session will be sent after registration.  Please contact Rachel Plews with any questions –

More information about our second session on active teaching  will be shared shortly.

Assessment Round on Digitalisation – Please submit

Dear friends, maybe you are not aware of the actual assessment round on digitalisation:

The State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI) will accept suggestions for National Research Programmes until Sept. 15th

Research and development in learning and teaching with technology in HE should not be technology-driven (only). Suggestions from educational development units are important.
