Higher Education Transformation with Mark Brown

The SFDN is delighted to welcome Professor Mark Brown, Ireland’s first Chair in Digital Learning and Director of the National Institute for Digital Learning (NIDL) to discuss the transformation taking place in higher education. Prior to taking up his position in Dublin, Mark was director of the National Centre for Teaching and Learning at Massey University, New Zealand and he is a passionate advocate for innovation in higher education.

Educational Development Workshop with Bernhard Lange

It is the end of another year during which the SFDN community have not met face-to-face. We have continued to provide vital to support to faculty in higher education institutions across Switzerland. This workshop, led by SFDN board member Bernhard Lange, provides an opportunity to collectively reflect on the triumphs and challenges of 2021.

Ruth Puhr

Originally from Ireland, I have been living and working in Switzerland for over 20 years, the last 17 of which have been at Les Roches Global Hospitality Education. Initially a member of faculty, I became a Faculty Development Advisor in 2018 and am now Head of Quality Assurance and Academic Development. I hold an EdD from University College London and my academic background is interdisciplinary with an MA in Ethnomusicology and MSc in Information Technology. As a faculty developer, I advocate for innovative approaches rooted in human connections and believe in the ultimate power of curiosity. My research interests include professional identity, the role of higher education in society and competency-informed practice.
