Case study – Doctoral training

Case study – Doctoral training

I am Martina Ghio, a PhD student at the University of Verona (Italy), and I am doing a study abroad period at the University of Zurich, hosted by Professor Kai Niebert’s research group.

My research aims to develop a Faculty Development Literacy program for PhD students, supporting their acquisition of knowledge, skills, and competencies linked to personal, professional, and institutional dimensions.

To this aim, it is important for me to understand, through case studies, the professional development pathways that Faculty Development centers design for doctoral students.

I am writing to ask you if you would be willing to participate in my research. I would like to conduct interviews with stakeholders involved in design or delivery of doctoral student training, i.e. faculty developers, to explore and document the training provided to doctoral students at your university from the perspective of faculty development.

If you are willing, please reply to me, Martina (martina.ghio@univr.it), so that I can arrange the short (30 minute) online interview.

Thank you for your help and availability.

Best regards,

Martina Ghio
