Increasingly diverse higher education teaching requires appropriate teaching and learning spaces, which are often still lacking. The HESD project (Higher Education Space Development – analysing, developing and evaluating higher education spaces) investigates how higher education spaces can be analysed, further developed and reimagined between convention and innovation
How can the development of teaching and learning spaces in higher education succeed?
This conference addresses the question of how the development of teaching and learning spaces in higher education can be systematically analysed and which success factors can be formulated for the transformation of higher education spaces. Results from the project, from project partners and additional expertise from the field will be presented with the aim of highlighting approaches to qualified spatially supported higher education teaching, bringing stakeholders into dialogue and contributing to the creation of new, future-oriented pathways.

Die Veranstaltung unter dem Titel «Wege der Hochschulraumentwicklung – zwischen Konvention und Wagnis» findet am 23. und 24. Juni 2026 an der PH Luzern statt. Im Fokus steht der Diskurs aus nationaler und internationaler Perspektive sowie Einblicke in innovative Ansätze für die Gestaltung von Lehr- und Lernräumen an Hochschulen.
Wie können Hochschulen zukunftsfähige Lehr- und Lernräume gestalten? Welche Rolle spielen räumliche Innovationen für didaktische Konzepte und strategische Hochschulentwicklung? Fragen wie diese stehen im Zentrum der im Juni am Standort Sentimatt stattfindenden Tagung.
Im Rahmen des internationalen Forschungsprojekts HESD – Higher Education Space Development präsentieren Forschende und Praktiker*innen aus Deutschland, Italien, Niederlande, Dänemark, Australien und der Schweiz aktuelle Ergebnisse zur Hochschulraumentwicklung. Im Fokus stehen unter anderem innovative Lernumgebungen, die Transformation von Seminar- und Laborräumen sowie die Verbindung von räumlichen und didaktischen Konzepten.
Eine Anmeldung ist bis zum 29. Mai 2026 möglich.
