Sustainable development is becoming increasingly important in teaching and transfer at Swiss universities. Seven Swiss universities are organizing the Swiss conference “Teaching and Learning for change: Sustainability in Higher Education” in cooperation with UNES/VSS. The conference is supported by FOEN, SDSN Switzerland and WWF Switzerland.

Save the date: Friday, 1st of Sept. 2023 in Bern (download the calendar entry in the attachment)

Call for contributions: We welcome workshop or marketplace contributions on projects, research, strategy, and governance in teaching and transfer for sustainable development. Please submit workshop contributions by the end of May: www.he-sustainability.ch/call-for-contributions

Ruth Puhr

Originally from Ireland, I have been living and working in Switzerland for over 20 years, the last 17 of which have been at Les Roches Global Hospitality Education. Initially a member of faculty, I became a Faculty Development Advisor in 2018 and am now Head of Quality Assurance and Academic Development. I hold an EdD from University College London and my academic background is interdisciplinary with an MA in Ethnomusicology and MSc in Information Technology. As a faculty developer, I advocate for innovative approaches rooted in human connections and believe in the ultimate power of curiosity. My research interests include professional identity, the role of higher education in society and competency-informed practice.
