ICED 2020 – 2nd Call for Proposals Now Open!

Dear SFDN Members,
On 15-18 June 2020 ETH Zurich is hosting the biennial conference of the International Consortium for Educational Development (ICED): ICED 2020. This conference, under the patronage of Rector Sarah Springman, is entitled “The Future-Ready Graduate”. We hope that many of you will be interested in taking part in this timely and important event: see http://iced2020.ch/.
Do you want to present at the conference? If so, we are happy to announce that the Second Call for submissions is now open. It closes at midnight CET on 3 February 2020.

  • Presentations for parallel sessions (30 minutes)
  • Workshops (90 minutes)
  • Panel discussions (90 minutes)
  • Posters
  • New: Digital presentations (<20 minutes)

Rachel C. Plews currently works as an educational developer in the Center for Teaching Support (Centre de soutien à l’enseignement) at the Haute école pédagogique Vaud. Her work with faculty members supports ongoing professional development with teaching and learning workshops, as well as individual consultations. Her research interests include technology in education, self-directed learning, and faculty development. Prior to moving to Switzerland, Rachel completed her doctoral studies at Teachers College, Columbia University, from which she holds an Ed.D. in Adult Learning and Leadership. She earned a M.Ed. in Teaching, Learning, & Technology from Lehigh University, and she has taught various undergraduate courses in education and hospitality programs. Rachel is a graduate of the School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University and worked in sales and marketing before moving into higher education. Rachel C. Plews travaille présentement comme conseillère pédagogique au Centre de soutien à l'enseignement de la Haute école pédagogique du Canton de Vaud. Son travail avec les membres du corps professoral appuie le développement professionnel continu par des ateliers d'enseignement et d'apprentissage, ainsi que des consultations individuelles et la recherche du domaine de Scholarship of Teaching & Learning. Ses intérêts de recherche comprennent la technologie en éducation, l'apprentissage autodirigé et la pédagogie de l'enseignement supérieur. Avant de déménager en Suisse, Rachel a terminé ses études de doctorat au Teachers College de Columbia University, où elle détient un doctorat en éducation Adult Learning et Leadership. Elle est titulaire d'un Master in Education, apprentissage et technologie de Lehigh University, et elle a enseigné divers cours en éducation et en hôtellerie au niveau tertiaire Rachel est diplômée de la School of Hotel Administration de Cornell University et a travaillé dans la vente et le marketing avant de passer à l'enseignement supérieur.
